How to send a fit review

One clear package of photos and numbers beats ten short “will it fit?” messages.

By WSAR Outdoor · Katy, Texas · Updated 2026-08-15 · Personal buyers

Clear answer: A useful fit review includes a ready-to-tow weight estimate, boat model/length/beam, engine info, hull bottom photos, and tow vehicle notes. Send that once so we can answer yes, no, or what else is needed. The website does not charge your card.

Photos that help

  • Side profile of the whole boat on its current stand or trailer
  • Stern with engine so weight distribution is visible
  • Hull bottom / bunk contact area in daylight
  • Bow eye and roller/bunk area at the bow
  • Builder plate if present (weight and capacities)

Less helpful alone: a distant ramp selfie with no detail, or stock brochure images of a different boat. Natural phone photos are fine if they are sharp and lit.

Numbers to write down before you hit send

  1. Boat make, model, approximate length and beam
  2. Engine make and horsepower
  3. Dry weight if known, plus your ready-to-tow estimate
  4. Typical gear load (batteries, cooler, full fuel?)
  5. Tow vehicle year/make/model and hitch class if known
  6. Primary use: lake, bay, occasional surf launches

Where to send the package

Use the contact / fit review form, email sales@wsaroutdoor.com, or call/text Maya at +1 (938) 253-2909 (English, Chinese, Spanish). Office line: +1 (346) 820-2336.

If you use email, put “Fit review” and the boat model in the subject line so nothing sits unread in a busy inbox.

What happens after you send it

We review fit. If a compact 14ft-class galvanized path is wrong for the boat, we say so. If it is right, we explain the published price path — $1,499 new with optional $99 cashback rules on that path only, or early $1,299 only when already deposit-locked — then written terms before any $199 deposit. Katy pickup is default; nationwide freight is quoted after fit when needed.

You should not feel rushed into a deposit from a homepage or ad. Fit is the product.

Optional tools if you want structure

30-second fit quiz for a quick path hint, printable checklist, tow-weight calculator, and $99 cashback photo rules if you later buy on the $1,499 path and want the media credit.

Related: weight vs rating · 14ft label · bunks vs rollers.

Example message template

Subject: Fit review — [Boat year/make/model]
Body: Ready-to-tow estimate ___ lb (includes ___). Beam approx ___. Engine ___. Tow vehicle ___. Primary water: lake / bay. Photos attached: side, stern, bottom, bow. I understand fit comes before deposit and the website does not charge cards.

Copy that structure even if you text Maya. Complete information gets complete answers.

What slows reviews down

One photo of the boat from fifty feet away, no weight, no engine info, and a demand for “best price now.” We will still try to help, but we will ask for the missing pieces. Sending them first is faster for you.

After a “not a fit” answer

Take it as saved money. Forcing a mismatch costs gelcoat, tires, and weekends. Ask what class of trailer would fit better if you want guidance; you are not obligated to buy from us to ask a technical question.

Privacy and photos

Crop out unrelated personal details in backgrounds if you care to. We need the boat, not your street number. Do not send passwords or payment card images — we will never need a card photo for fit review, and the site does not charge cards.

Multilingual help

Maya at +1 (938) 253-2909 can take fit details in English, Chinese, or Spanish. If you write in your strongest language, include boat model and weight numbers in digits so nothing is lost in translation. Clear numbers travel better than long prose.

If you are buying for a family member

Collect the boat details from the person who actually loads at the ramp. Second-hand guesses about weight and beam create false fits. Sit together for ten minutes, write the numbers once, and send one package.

What a good reply looks like

Expect either: (1) likely fit, with any caveats, (2) not a fit, with a short reason, or (3) need more photos/numbers. A professional answer is specific. If you only receive a price with no fit discussion, ask again — fit is the product.

After approval, what you should still do

Read the price path carefully: $1,499 new with optional $99 cashback rules on that path only, or early $1,299 only if already deposit-locked. Written terms before $199 deposit. No website card charge. Katy pickup default; freight quoted after fit when needed. Pre-trip and bearing care guides become your ownership manual after delivery.

Sending for someone else

Parents buying for adult kids, or one spouse handling email while the other runs the boat, should sit together for the measurement step. Second-hand beam guesses create false fits. Ten minutes of accurate data beats three days of correction emails.
